What I can do for you (JUST NOT at the moment)

News reporting

Need quick turnaround on a breaking story? I research, interview for and write accurate news articles within hours.

Features

Profile, analysis, report – you name it, I'll research, interview widely and write an entertaining feature for you.

My features Tooling up for Mars and Sexual harassment in science: Why so few report it and what happens to those who do were published in the Best Australian Science Writing 2016 and 2018 anthologies respectively.

Editing

If you need an article cut down, beefed up, commissioned or simply polished for publication, I have wide experience in all levels of editing, including subeditor and commissioning editor roles.

Proofreading

Need a final set of eyes? I proofread quickly and accurately and can fit copy using InDesign.

What about a style guide? I create and maintain style guides for regular clients.

Photography

I take quality, high-resolution, print-quality photos to accompany written work.

Radio

I appear on and produce features for Australian Broadcasting Corporation radio programmes. In 2019, I presented an episode of The Chase, an ABC/BBC co-production.

Teaching and instruction

I conduct media training and guest lecture at The University of Melbourne and Monash University.

I tutored first-year psychology at The University of Melbourne.

Belinda was my colleague while she edited Wild Magazine. She was the best type – hard working, efficient and hilarious.
